This ground up development is a game changer for the local community. The project consists of a 3.15 acre full city block in Alma Michigan. The proposed development will be “missing middle” rental housing with single family detached and duplex style homes. Missing Middle Housing is a trans formative concept that highlights a time-proven and beloved way to provide more housing and more housing choices in sustainable, walkable places. The development will provide seven housing options with one ADA compliant option. Home sizes will range from 450 – 1,371 square feet. The floorplans range from single story one-bedroom & one-bathroom to two-stories with three-bedrooms & two and one-half bathrooms. Sixteen homes will have attached garages and each garage will only be accessible from the interior of the property. Furthermore, all of the homes located on the perimeter of the neighborhood will have street facing front porches in order to maintain the character of the existing neighborhood. Moreover, all of the homes on the interior of the neighborhood have porches that help create a sense of “community”.
This neighborhood will focus on “walkability” in that the interior portions of the property will have sidewalks. These sidewalks will also connect to the existing municipal sidewalks which in turn helps create a “walkable” Community and fosters economic activity in the downtown area.
